Art Walks and Talks set for this weekend
A special free self-guided walking tour to art galleries, gardens and museums will be available in Hermann this weekend.    Featured artwork includes oils, watercolors, metal and free-formed sculpture, German targets, photography, woven baskets and pottery by artists known regionally, nationally, and internationally. New this year is “Project People Paint,” a public art project on a large brick wall; it’s art creation for all ages.    A few short “Art Talks” are also scheduled at different locations   throughout the weekend. Admission is free.    “Art Walks & Talks” hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday.    The Art Walks and Talks Guide can be picked up at the Gasconade County Historical Society Community Room at 315 Schiller in Hermann.    The work of artists Jack Wendleton, Betty Stiers, Catherine Mahoney, Alice Calhoun, Joey Los and Dave Ludig will be featured on the Art Walk and these artists will be available to talk with you about their   artwork.    Other members of Artists of Wine Country will have their work on display at the Kunstlerhaus.    For more information, call Artists of Wine Country at (573) 486-2444 or Hermann Welcome Center at (800) 932-8687.    Donations can be made at the Art Walks to the Alice Jacobson Scholarship, awarded annually by the Artists of Wine Country to a Hermann student.    The Kunstlerhaus will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. both days.
