VOLLEYBALL: Hermann wins Class 2 girls title

Hermann swept St. Pius again 25-18, 25-20 for its 11th state championship. Shelby Winkelmann led Hermann (34-4-3 overall) with 15 kills and Kaitlyn Laboube had 24 assist
Hermann went on a 5-1 run in game one to take a 17-13 lead. Three different Bearcats had kills during the run, and St. Pius (25-10-3) got no closer than three the rest of the game.
Hermann finally shook the pesky St. Pius squad in Game 2 after a Winkelmann kill and a combination block between Winkelmann and Brooke Witthaus made it 24-19. Hermann won the title on a St. Pius service error.
Amie Held led St. Pius with 17 kills, and Olivia Richardson had 19 assists.
