Winter Weather Advisory Statement as of 8:12 PM CST on December 15, 2010 ... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 am CST Thursday... A Winter Weather Advisory for freezing rain remains in effect until 6 am CST Thursday. * Timing... precipitation was spreading northeastward across parts of Missouri and Illinois. Most of the accumulating precipitation should end by daybreak Thursday. * Accumulations... ice accumulations up to one-tenth of an inch are possible. There may also be minor accumulations of light snow or sleet. * Impacts... untreated roads... sidewalks... and parking lots will become extremely slippery. Missouri Department of Transportation officials report extremely hazardous Road conditions and advise against unnecessary travel. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory is issued for a variety of winter weather conditions... such as snow... blowing snow... sleet... or freezing drizzle and rain. It only takes a small amount of wintry precipitation to make roads... bridges... sidewalks... and parking lots icy and dangerous.
