The Missouri State Highway Patrol said two people were killed in traffic crashes during the Patrol's annual Christmas counting period. This was a major decrease from 2009's total of 11. The Patrol's counting period ran from the evening of Thursday, Dec. 23 - Sunday, Dec. 26.
Neither of the state's fatal crashes occured in the local area, according to Patrol statistics. The Patrol investigated 122 injury-accidents during this year's period, compared to 148 last year.
