Route 100 Restriping East Washington Missouri To Start Wednesday, April 6, 2011

_________________________________________________________________________

After delays due to the weather, the Missouri Department of Transportation will finally begin restriping portions of Route 100 east of Washington so those portions can see increased speed limits. MoDOT said crews would begin restriping the sections of Rte. 100 at the I-44/Villa Ridge and Washington portions of the corridor on Wednesday, weather permitting.
MoDOT will raise the speed limit from 45 m.p.h. to 55 m.p.h. at these sections of Rte. 100 when the restriping is completed. Crews will restripe the five-lane segments on the highway to make the fifth lane into dedicated left turn lanes.
MoDOT reminded drivers they need to continue to follow the current posted speed limit listed on the signs along Route 100 no matter whether they are the existing or new speed limit.
