Hermann City Maintenance Crews Hard at Work Spring 2011

City works projects scheduled are as follows:

Street Department:
Has targeted Epple-Fricke Drive, Washington, Jefferson and Mozart streets for pothole repairs in the upcoming weeks. That was the department's plan reported by the Public Works Department this week.
A light standard in the parking lot behind Hardee’s will be reinstalled. It had been removed for the installation of a storm water drain.
The street department is also working with St. George School for installation of a school zone speed limit sign.
Runway maintenance is required at the Hermann Municipal Airport and this is also a duty of the street department.
Banners, which will be highlighting Hermann’s 175th. birthday, will be put up and displayed throughout the town. The street department will be working with the tourism department on this project.

Parks Department:
Continued work on the city pool. The park staff has daily ongoing duties such as, grass mowing, cleaning pavil ions and bathrooms, repairing and maintaining park playground equipment and staffing the city’s recycling center. Ten bins of recyclable plastic will be delivered to Franklin County Recycling in Washington.

Gas/Water/ Wastewater:
Reading meters for the monthly utility bill as well as doing the daily checks of all the wells and lift stations. Staff will also be working with Unnerstall Construction on sanitary sewer main and service replacement on West 15th. Water line replacement work continues on West 9th Street.
Two aerator motors are scheduled to be replaced at the city lagoon.

Hermann Electric Department:
Work on right-of-way maintenance taking down some large trees in the easement between Highway 100 and Washington, and West 15th Streets. The trees are being cleared for a sanitary sewer project in that area. The department will be working with HD Supply on the testing of 3-phase meters.
