Officers with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department arrived to a residence in the 5000 block of Highway O last night around six-forty-five. As soon as enforcement arrived they spoke with a male witness who stated that he was waived down for held by another man while driving down Highway O towards the residence.

According to department reports, the witness was flagged down for help in saving the life of the flagger’s brother, 81-year-old James McNabb of pacific. Reports indicated that McNabb’s brother found him trapped under a ride along lawn mower after family became concerned when they didn’t hear from him for some time.

Investigators believe the 81-year-old man was cutting the grass near the edge of a culvert on his commercial grade mower when he and the equipment toppled over the edge onto a concrete slab below. The department believes McNabb died after the mower landed on top of him after an eight foot drop.
