Missouri will begin requiring identification from those seeking copies of birth, death, marriage and divorce records, the state health department said today.
The state said it was making the move to reduce identity theft.
Beginning March 1, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services will require a photo ID or two alternate forms of identification to get copies of the records.
A notarized record request can also be submitted by mail.
