Hermann Girls Basketball End a GREAT SEASON Lady Bearcats Lose State Title Game 52-74 to Stockton

03/19 - Chayla Rutledge had a game-high 29 points to lead Stockton to a 74-52 win over visiting Hermann Saturday. Stockton was seven of 14 (50 percent) from outside the 3-point arc, while Hermann hit two of 13 3s Also finishing in double figures for Stockton were Kaitlan Cramer (25), Garrett Burton (10) and Ashli Burton (10). Shelby Winkelmann led the way for Hermann with 22 points. The leading rebounder for Stockton was Chayla Rutledge (9). The leading rebounder for Hermann was Shelby Winkelmann (9)

Hermann beats Hallsville
03/17 - Shelby Winkelmann had a game-high 34 points to lead Hermann to a 67-51 win over Hallsville Thursday at Hearnes Center. Also finishing in double figures for Hermann was Jamie Gleeson with 11 points. Ashley Mullings led Hallsville with 8 points. The leading rebounder for Hermann was Karinne Lane (8). Hermann (26-5) travels to Stockton on Saturday at 5 p.m. Hallsville (9-1) visits Kennett on Friday at 5 p.m.

Hermann Girls Move On To State Title

The Hermann Lady Bearcats beat Hallsville 67-51 in the semifinals of the Class 3 High School Basketball State Playoffs Thursday to earn a shot for a state championship. Hermann (26-5) will face Stockton (27-3) in the title game Saturday, Mar. 19, at 5:00 p.m. at Mizzou Arena in Columbia.

Hermann beats Fair Grove
03/12 - Shelby Winkelmann had a game-high 41 points to lead Hermann to a 72-55 win over visiting Fair Grove Saturday. Free throw shooting helped lift the Bearcats to victory, Shelby set a new free-throw record for a single game.  She hit 22 of 22 attempts.  The previous record was 19 of 19.  The Bearcats shot 88 percent (35 of 40) from the line. Fair Grove made 18 of 28 from the line. Also finishing in double figures for Hermann was Karinne Lane with 14 points. Eastwood was the leading scorer for Fair Grove with 24 points and K. Kepler added 20. Hermann (25-5) goes on the road to play Principia on Thursday at 1:40 p.m. ___________________________________________________________________________

Hermann downs Skyline
03/09 - Hermann outlasted visiting Skyline 63-56 in overtime on Wednesday. Shelby Winkelmann led Hermann with 23 points and Laura Rethemeyer added 16. Kara Glor led Skyline with 20 points, while Ashley Roberts finished with 17 and Hannah Wisdom added 13. The leading rebounder for Hermann was Hannah Steinbeck (11). Hermann (24-5) will host Fair Grove on Saturday at 1:45 p.m.

St. James, Mo. —

The Hermann Lady Bearcats had 5:09 to prove they are not a One-Player Show.
They did exactly that.
Surviving a frantic rally by the state’s No. 1-ranked team St. James – including the final five minutes without all-stater Shelby Winkelmann – the second-seeded Hermann High School girls’ basketball team captured the championship of the Missouri Class 3 District 9 Tournament by posting a 47-43 victory over its Four Rivers Conference rival in front of a packed house at Donati Gym.
Hermann, now 23-5 and ranked No. 6 in the latest Missouri Class 3 state poll, will meet the District 10 champion – either Skyline or California – at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 9 at the Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building on the campus of Missouri S&T in Rolla in Class 3 Sectional play. Skyline will meet California Saturday, March 5, in the District 10 girls’ title game.
