Early Morning Accident Lands Hermann Man in Jail

The Washington Fire Department assists the Missouri State Highway Patrol at the scene of a one vehicle accident early this morning. Assistant Fire Chief Tim Frankenberg says a younger man ran off the road in his Dodge Neon and slammed into a power pole off Highway A near the intersection of Country Club Road around three-forty-five.
According to Highway Patrol accident and arrest reports, the 19-year-old Hermann man was not injured in the accident however was taken into custody after police got to talking with him. The patrol says the man was driving under the influence. Enforcement also found a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
The Hermann man will stay in the Franklin County Jail for 24-hours before he is released.
