Smoke pot? Schwarzenegger says, who cares?

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger says no one cares if you smoke a joint.
The Hollywood actor-turned-governor signed a law five weeks ago that made possession of up to an ounce of marijuana the equivalent of a traffic ticket. It carries a penalty of no more than a $100 fine and no arrest or criminal record.
He defended the law Monday, telling Jay Leno on NBC's "Tonight Show" it is a good idea.
According to a transcript of the interview, Schwarzenegger says: "No one cares if you smoke a joint or not."

PENTAGON: TROOPS MAY STAY IN IRAQ...IF ASKED...

The United States is open to the idea of keeping troops in Iraq past a deadline to leave next year if Iraq asks for it, U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Tuesday.

"We'll stand by," Gates said. "We're ready to have that discussion if and when they want to raise it with us."

Gates said he has not spoken directly to any of the political leaders, but other U.S. officials, including Vice President Joe Biden, have been heavily engaged.

Gates predicted that a new government would need some time before asking the U.S. to extend the troop plan.

Although the 2011 deadline was a point of pride for Iraq after years of U.S. military occupation, it does not leave much time for the U.S. to train Iraq's fledgling air force. Iraq also wants more U.S. help to protect its borders.  . Click Here for more info.

MYSTERY 'MISSILE' OFF CALIFORNIA COAST; PENTAGON 'NO CLUE'

The Pentagon Tuesday said it was trying to determine if a missile was launched Monday off the coast of Southern California and who might have launched it.

Spokesmen for the Navy, Air Force, Defense Department and North American Aerospace Defense Command said they were looking into a video posted on the CBS News website that appears to show a rocket or some other object shooting up into the sky and leaving a large contrail over the Pacific Ocean.

The video was shot by a CBS affiliate KCBS' helicopter, the station said Tuesday.

Dust Explosion At Washington Missouri Plant...No one was hurt...

UPDATE: Although it has not been reported as such this building is within the RTI Tradco Factory Complex which also works extensively with titanium.

No one was hurt in a titanium dust explosion at the Jamegy Incorporated plant in Washington Tuesday morning. The explosion was reported around 5:00 a.m., according to Washington Fire officials.
A build up of titanium dust in a machine known as a swarf grinder led to the explosion. Click Here for more info.
