Drudge Fought The TSA… And Drudge Won along with the American Public

Despite the establishment media presiding over another mass hoax in claiming that Americans were completely happy with invasive airport security measures, contrary to polls showing a majority in opposition, and that the national opt out day was a failure, the fact that the TSA was forced to change its policy by mothballing naked body scanners and curtailing aggressive pat downs clearly goes to show that the man who almost single-handedly drove the issue, Matt Drudge, fought the TSA and he won.

The big networks and the so-called progressive borg hive, who instantly tried to spin the lack of delays at airports over Thanksgiving as proof that the opt-out protest had failed, conveniently failed to mention the fact that major airports across the country had deliberately mothballed their naked body scanners in a crass PR ploy aimed at deflating the momentum behind the demonstration.


The nationwide scanner shut down proved two things.

1) Big Sis’s security talk is nothing more than hot air. If the scanners were so imperative to keep us safe from terrorists then why did the TSA turn them off in a vain effort to score political points?

2) Drudge won. The DHS and TSA were forced to change their policies on both naked body scanners and invasive pat downs – both of which were curtailed over Thanksgiving. Whether such a change stays in place remains to be seen – the war will undoubtedly rage on, but there can be little doubt that Drudge won the battle.

Indeed, the whole issue underscores once again why the establishment media is so petrified of Drudge’s power to direct the nationwide rebellion against big government. One man with a website was able to take on the might of the multi-billion dollar corporate media industry and the federal government for whom they act as apologists, and in doing so stir the next great wave of resistance against tyranny.
The establishment continually berates Drudge and attempts to assert that he has lost the power to influence the national discourse, even as the Drudge Report continues to smash its traffic record year after year.

As Homeland Security extends its tentacles more and more into our private lives, the rebellion against Big Sis will only accelerate, and Drudge as ever will be at the forefront of that charge, much to the chagrin and embarrassment of the castrated, corrupted, distrusted, and increasingly irrelevant establishment media.

Newark airport controversial scanners are barely used on busiest travel day(CLICK HERE for more)
NEWARK — The choice between a "virtual strip search" and a "grope" was strictly academic Wednesday for most holiday travelers flying out of Newark Liberty International Airport.

The majority of Newark’s full-body scanners were idle throughout much of the day, depriving most passengers of the chance to opt out of the controversial screening procedure even if they had wanted to.

271 undocumented never-before-seen works by Picasso worth $80 mil revealed

A retired French electrician and his wife have come forward with 271 previously unknown works by Pablo Picasso, a collection estimated to be worth nearly $80 million. The administrators of Picasso’s estate believe the works are authentic, and have filed suit for alleged illegal receipt of the works. Pierre Le Guennec (above), who worked for Picasso in the 1970s, and his wife Danielle, squirreled away the pieces inside a trunk in the garage of their home on the French Riviera. Police investigators are looking into how Le Guennec and his wife, came by the pictures.

An Afghanistan border police officer fired on NATO troops during a training mission in the east of the country Monday, killing six Americans before he was shot dead, U.S. and Afghan officials said.

The attack comes amid a push to speedily expand Afghanistan's army and police forces in the next few years. The goal is to turn over the responsibility for nationwide security to Afghan forces by 2014 so that NATO troops can go home.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, saying the gunman joined the border police in order to kill foreign soldiers.

The incident happened in Pachir Wagam district of Nangarhar province - right on the border with Pakistan.

UPDATED: Supreme Court denies challenge to President Obama's citizenship

Once again, the Supreme Court has denied an appeal that raised doubts about President Barack Obama's U.S. citizenship. Without comment, justices rejected a challenge from Charles Kerchner Jr., a Pennsylvania man who sought a trial in federal court forcing the president to produce documents regarding his birth and citizenship.
Kerchner's attorney, Mario Apuzzo, had argued in a petition with the Supreme Court that Obama did not fit the definition of a "natural-born citizen" required for the nation's highest office, as defined by Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution.
That clause states, "No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."
Kerchner argued that the framers of the 1789 document intended a "natural-born" citizen to mean someone born in the U.S. to parents who were both American citizens.
The high court and other courts had dismissed earlier, unrelated lawsuits from individuals questioning Obama's citizenship. State birth certificate records show he was born August 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii. His mother is a native of Kansas; his father was born in Kenya, which at the time was a British colony.
Kerchner alleged that it was "undisputed fact" Obama's father was a citizen of the British crown, and that meant Obama is not a true U.S. citizen.

State GOP leaders grab issue of Obama eligibility

Republican lawmakers, governors poised to demand documentation

The GOP members of Congress who booted Democrat Rep. Nancy Pelosi from the speaker's seat when they took the majority in the U.S. House this month may be the least of President Barack Obama's concerns as the 2012 presidential campaign assembles.

That's because in Pennsylvania, and in at least a couple of other states, there are Republican-controlled Houses, Senates and governors' offices where being developed right now are plans to use state law to demand proof of constitutional eligibility from presidential candidates before they would be allowed on the state ballot. 

From Pennsylvania, Georgia and Texas there already is confirmation of such plans. Arizona is likely to have the same plan, and other states are expected to be in the works as legislatures approach the dates when they will convene.

Power out at Missouri Capitol, surrounding area - Jefferson City

The power has gone out at the Missouri Capitol.

The electricity went out shortly after 11 a.m. Monday at the Capitol and several nearby buildings. 

The cause was not immediately clear.
State Administration Commissioner Kelvin Simmons said crews from utility provider Ameren Missouri were attempting to identify the cause and restore power.

Ameren spokesman Mike Cleary said the power outage also was affecting a nearby state office building as well as a Catholic church and school. Cleary said the cause of the power outage is not yet known.

Some state employees left the dark Capitol. Others used the break as an opportunity for exercise - walking laps through the dim hallways.

Silver prices have soared 60 percent in 2010, driven in large part by a strong investment demand, particularly strong buying of exchange-traded funds, or ETFs, backed by the physical metal.  ETF demand has been an important driver of prices because investors have prepositioned themselves for this central bank buying by emerging markets
The increase in silver prices has also been spurred by a rise in industrial demand, which is up 18 percent year over year. A hike in demand for silver from solar panels and pent up demand from the industrial sector is helping to push up prices.

The strong interest in silver has created a record month for sales of the 2010 Silver American Eagle bullion coin, according to the U.S. Mint.  Silver coin sales are up 22 percent compared to this period last year and 30 percent since 2007.
