Statement for Hermann, MO as of 4:15 AM CST on November 08, 2010
A red flag warning remains in effect from 10 am this morning to
6 PM CST this evening.
The combination of low afternoon relative humidity of around
20 percent... southerly winds of 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts...
and dry vegetation and fuels will produce critical fire weather
conditions from late this morning through the afternoon. These
conditions are conducive for the rapid spread and growth of
wildfires.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures will
create explosive fire growth potential.
