Move over McDonald’s - we’ve got a new king. Mickie D’s is no longer the world's largest restaurant chain. HLN tells you why Subway reigns supreme.
“The chain had 33,749 Subway shops worldwide at the end of 2010, that beats Mc Donald’s burger joints by 12 locations. Subway says about half of it’s growth is happening overseas. It says it’s also found really unusual place as setup shop and we’re talking a river boat, a church, car dealers, bowling alleys, casinos...” HLN
Daily Mail reports that although Subway does have more stores, it is still nowhere near as profitable as McDonald’s. TIME Magazine says McDonald's is taking the news pretty well saying they “are committed to being better, not just bigger.”
A blogger from The Stir attributes Subway’s success to its mantra: “Eat Fresh.”
